Namibia

Desert Safaris in The Great Namib & Etosha Pan Wildlife Area

Namibia is an unspoiled gem in Africa with many faces and contrasts.  With the exception Impalila Lodge, this is accessible from Victoria Falls.  Most Namibian Safaris start from Windhoek the capitol city. Because of the vast distances between areas of interest, small planes are used to ferry clients between the sites.  To properly sample the highlights of Namibia, you should plan to invest at least seven days and stay at three different camps/areas.  They are all quite diverse in natural beauty and assorted wildlife, none of which should be missed.

From the giant dunes in the Sossusvlei Desert to the African wildlife in the Etosha Pan and Kunene, there is more contrasting scenery and unique photographic opportunities than anywhere else in Africa.

Price Key Namibian Properties:

These prices are per person for full board and in most cases include the bar (Domestic liquor, beer and wine), and is a guideline only, and final price will depend on the Dollar/Rand relationship at time of booking.  The cost differences are usually driven by the number of staff per guest, the amount of food and wine choices, and the room and camp amenities such as individual plunge pools and spa availability, etc.  They all will feature game viewing along with the areas special interest in Namibia.

$$$$     $550-600

Property Comparisons:

In order to distinguish between properties we have rated them for amenities, style, level of service, and ambiance.  This is to give you a reference of how we think they rate against the others properties listed for a particular destination.  They are all lovely properties that we have stayed in, so there is no bad or wrong choice.

The more †s we give a property, the higher it ranks against other properties for that category and is useful only for property comparisons.  This is not the same as a “Star Rating” system for properties and hotels given out by Tourism Organizations or Government Hotel rating services.
