Botswana
African Wildlife in the Okavango Delta
The game rich areas of Botswana tend to be wilder in nature with less people encroachment, but are just a little more difficult to reach! These destinations require a small plane flight and limited baggage, but don’t let that stop you! The Okavango Delta becomes flooded at certain times of the year and the game follows the receding water lines which leave behind abundant grass. Not only does the “Big Five” roam freely here, but it’s also a bird watchers paradise. Forty percent of Botswana has been set aside as African wildlife reserves.
While there are some camps with permanent chalets, most tend to use luxury tents. All are small and intimate with outstanding personal service. While the word tent appears, there is no similarity to the ones you camped in growing up, these are big and luxurious, and all will have en-suite facilities!
Most folks start their Botswana Safari form Kasane (Close to Vic Falls) after visiting Victoria Falls. It’s very easy to spend 6-8 nights in Botswana using multiple camps as part of the itinerary. Sample Itinerary

Property Comparisons:
In order to distinguish between properties we have rated them for amenities, style, level of service, and ambiance. This is to give you a reference of how we think they rate against the others properties listed for a particular destination. They are all lovely properties that we have stayed in and can highly recommend, so there is no bad or wrong choice.
The more +'s we give a property, the higher it ranks against other properties for that category and is useful only for property comparisons. This is not the same as a "Star Rating" system for properties and hotels given out Tourism Organizations' or Government rating services.
